NAVAL MANOEUVRES IN HONOR OF COLONISTS.

A party of guests numbering over 500 ladies and gentlemen started to-day for Portsmouth to attend the naval manoeuvres organised in honor of the Colonials. Two special trains^were dispatched, and when the second had reaphed the dockyard it got derailed. Three carriages overturned and several persons were injured, Including Sir William Dobson, XJhief Justice of Tasmania. No, other Colonials were wounded by the accident. (Received July 25, at 10.30 a.m.) July 24. Later accounts modify .those previously received regarding the railway accident at Portsmouth. It iB now shown that it was not the train that was derailed, but the truck conveying the visitors round the dockyard. This overturned and caused the injury to the occupant i. A large party of colonial guests was entertained to-day on board the troopships Euphrates and Orontes. The reserve squadron subsequently formed in an extended line, when the Queen in the Royal yacht passed by, her Majesty being loudly cheered. The day's proceedings terminated with an attack by a torpedo vessel on the turretship Colossus, and a grand submarine explosion.
