THE DUNEDIN UNEMPLOYED.
Dunedin, July 21. A meeting of nearly ,209 was again held, at which 'the 5 ,, Mayor and several Councillors addressed ' the men. These have been informed that the work provided on the Otago Central would riot be open to them, but only to'those at present employed on relief works. They ask as an alternative— : if towii work at 4s 6d or 4s j if country work, 'at 6s cannot be provided." The Mayor -'also' sent a private telegram to the Premier stating, that the wages asked, were not unreasonable, and that they were waiting patiently' for the authorities to do something.
