MORSHEAD V. SPEIGHT.
The six hours' walking contest.between Morshead, of Christchurch, and Speight, for the championship of Auckland and a stake of £100, resnlted in a walk over for the former, as Speight was unable to compete, having sprained hia ankle. Hia backers have served notices on the stakeholders nob to pay the stakes over, as a lawsuit is likely to arise.
