MAORI CREEK.

On Friday evening last a most interesting "Christmas Service" was conducted here by the Revds S. B. Maclean and G. W. York, of Greymouth, who had brought out in private conveyances a party of sixteen girls of the Trinity Church Sunday School choir. " These, under the jleadershin ef .'Mrs Courtenay Smith and Miss Nellie Brown, sang some very pretty Christmas Carols, which were liatened to with great delight by young and old, who crowded our small church on the occasion. Addresses were delivered by botH reverend gentlemen, and several hymns were very heartily rendered by the members of th« local choir. There were both without and within the building a number of those who seldom darken the door of a church listening with evident pleasure to the tuneful "strains of the joyous Christmas songs. The church was very tastily decorated for the occasion, and was tilled to overflowing. Mrsßayton and Mrs Stevens are to be cordially thanked for their donations of flnwers, whilst the praiseworthy efforhj of Mesdames Tydall, Hilfon, Nash, M'Ginnity, and J<itzinimons, in the way of decorations, and otherwise rendering the event a most (successful one, were highly appreciated. "°' )

The viaitoFS were sumptuously nnrl Wnitablv entertained by Mr and Mrs M'Kechnie, and appeared much delighted with their pleasant trip.
