A VOLUNTEER QUESTION.
Captain Somerville, of the Alexandra Cavalry, who was delegated by the Wanganui Volunteers to interview the Defence Minister re the affairs of the New Zealand Rifle Assoc:ation, has had several interviews with Mr Balance, and has succeeded in obtaining the vote of £500 intact for the next annual meeting, which is to be held at Wanganui.; The old committee of the association is to be done away with, and the 1 committee, which was appointed after last meeting in Wellington, will have charge of affairs, i^hich will, it is now expected, prove successful.
