A BAKRUPTCY CASE,

In the bankruptcy case of E. L. Humphries and Son, the senior member of the late firm, Mr W. Humphries, refused to answer certain questions the Deputy Official Assignee asked respecting a promissory note for i 2315 16s 9d in his wife's favor, doing so on the advice of his solicitor, he was accordingly brought before the Judge of the Court, who told him he would have to answer all questions asked, and the case was adjourned till this morning to enable him to do so, Yesterday he was examined and gave his evidence to the satisfaction of the Official Assignee. On the ease being brought up this morning the Judge said he was glad there was' no necessity now for committing Mr Humphries, and ordered that the estate should pay the Assignee's costs, the debtor to pay his own.
