[to the editor.] Sir, — 1 agree with the old maxim that " all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy," but surely this cannot be applied to the boys or girls attending the State School. Four and a half hours five days in the week, deducting half an hour for play, cannot be severe work f» the children. If it is, give them an extra half hour each day on the school grounds.
