SOUNDING IN CAPE PALLISER.
The s.s. Stella has returned from Cape Palliser. The Captain reports having made a series of soundings of the coast near the Cape, at from one and a-half to two miles off the shore, and soundings could be found at 260 fathoms, but at about half a mile from the shore a shoal was. discovered on which the sounding averaged from six to 20 fathoms.
