The s.s lonic' which arrived here from New Caledonia to-day, brings information of the total wreck near Noumea of the ' French warahip La Chere. All the crew were saved. EXCURSION. : Port Chalmers, January 26. The s.s Tarawera arrived from her excursion to the West Coast Sounds today. The trip has been a moßt enjoyable one, very favorable weather being experienced and concerts, theatrical performances, balls, and a regatta took place.
