A DENIAL.
[to the editor.]
Sir, — I would not have intruded on your time and space again in connection with Hatters School but that I have been pressed by many friends to give the most unqualified contradiction to "Fair Play" in the Weekly Argus of the 11th. He asks, "Can Mr Morris deny that Mr Philpotts went with him to see that he duly posted certain letters for the Board of Education ?" Yes, Mr Morris can and does deny the statement, and dares Mr Philpotts, or any member of the committee, to say that he, or they, ever accompanied me to the post office, or anywhere else, with any letter of any kind or at any time. As to charity beginning at home ; if I owe "Fair Play " any money, or if I am indebted to any of his friends, let them send in their accounts. If not, I will begin my charity where I please. — 1 am., &c, J. M. Morris, Chairman School Committee. Nelson Creek. i
