ASHTON of this town appointed is Agent for the above Line of Coaches, and is empowered to arrange witk intending Passengers as to Fares, &c. ■VTEW ZEALAND RAILWAYS MIDDLE ISLAND. SPECIAL CAUTION TO PASSENGERS. The only exemption from this penalty will be for passengers joining the trains at Flat Stations (i.e., Stations where no provision is made for booking passengers), in Buch caßes the guard will issue a ticket available to the nearest Booking Station, where passenger* will have to re-book to destination. Clause 2 of the By-Laws provides that " No person will be allowed to take a seat in or upon any carriage used on the Railway, or to travel therein upon the Railway without first having paid the fare and obtained a ticket." And clause 10 further provides that " Any passenger travelling under any circumstances without a ticket shall pay the fare from the Station whence the train originally started to the end of his journey." The penalty for any person offending against the provisions of above regulation is Ten Pounds The Officers of the Railway Department are instructed to take action against all offenders ; and it is hereby notified that the By-Law will be strictly enforced on and after Ist AUGUST proxo.
