The following are statistics of the various apparatus in use by the Postal Telegraph Department at the present time throughout the United Kingdom : —Public and private instruments — automatic, 167 ; printers, 1560 ; bells, 277 j sounders, 1380 ; needles, 3495 ; A B C, 4641 j other kinds, 859— giving a total of 12,379 instruments.
