Dunedin, August 3. Henry Clayton will oppose J. C. Brown for Tuapeka, and Captain F. W. M'Kenzie will contest Waikai in the Liberal interest. Invercaegill, August 3. All the present members in the House — Dr Hodgkinson, Messrs Joyce, Shanks, and Feldwick — will stand again, and also Hurst for Riverton, and Kinross for Invercargill. A 7-roomecl cottage at Gladstone was destroyed by fire early this morning. The house was owned by Mr Bastings, and it is believed was insured. The furniture was insured in the New Zealand Office for L 250.
