THE RAILWAY CELEBRATION.
The train from Christchurch, with His Excellency the Governor and party, arrived yesterday evening. The Mayor welcomed the Governor to Dunedin, and the latter declared the through line open. The city was gaily illuminated, and the electric light exhibited from the Custom House, Bank of New Zealand, and other buildings. There was a crowd of 9000 persons at the railway station last night. The Vice-Regal party attended the Princess Theatre, where the Civil Service Club performed. This morning a train leaves for Lawrence with the members of the Assembly who intend playing Blue Spur a visit.
