After referring to the proposed transfer to . Hokitika of the lighting apparatus intended ", for Tory Channel, Mr Keynolds, in his recent v Btatement in the House of Representatives, said : — ...-.■ "Having. obtained all the requisite information, as to the Bites arid class of lights required, an order was sent to England, in t February last for the necessary apparatus for lights to be erected on the Brothers in Cook's Straitej at Puysegur Point and Centre Island, .in Foveaux Straits, at Mokohino Island,, in the Hauraki Gulf, and at Cape Maria Van Piemen, at the extreme north of the .North Island, and at Portland Island, of the Mania Peninsula.
