OHRiSTcmrKCH Gradt and Produce MABRErir-The Lytteltdn Times, in its' weekly report, says :— Deliveries of grain from farmers during the week have been limited, and business has been principally confined to the completion of speculative wheat shipments to the home market. The ship Hudson sailed on 3rd May with a* full cargo of wheat, and the Lady Jocelyn is also ready for sea, and takes a large quantity for the home market. Melbourne advices intimate a decline in oats owing to -large arrivals from. Tasmania and New Zealand ports; and it does not seem unlikely ; that ere long prices; will give way herej^wheti we take into' consideration the large I 'stocks held, in the southern districts. Most orders to this market have been executed, arid : only a limited quantity of oats will be required from . this quarter till the spring sets in.; Barley is 1 decidedly easier, and now that brewers are wall stocked, exporter's "show no disposition to operate at the late rates. Potatoes are a shade better, and a trifle over last week's quotations was obtained for a parcel wanted for immediate shipment. ' A brisk trade is' still doing in flour~bbth for export and town demand, and millers are well supplied with orders. Cash quotations paid farmers are as follows :— Wheat, 3s 3d per bushel • oats, 2s 6d to 2s 8d ; barley, 4a 6d to 4s 9d ; potatoes, 42s 6d per ton ; "butter. Is 2dto 1b 3d; cheese, BJd to Bs. Millers' quotations— Flour in sacks, L 1 0; do in, 100's LJO 7s 6d ; do' in 50's, LlO 15s ; ids per ton- extra f .o: b. at Lyttelton ; bran, £4 10s ; ; sharps, ; 115 j : IDs per ton extra f.o.b". at Lyttelton; ; Dairy produce is still in small supply, and high rates rule .in consequence. "Bams and Bacon— The new cur<? will be ready in the course of a week or 56." and "the operiirig rates will be high, as manufacturers have had to pay exceedingly high rates for stock this season. ■
