The Government [ opposed the measure, stating that the Royal Commissioner's report was signed, and would be distributed shortly. The Queen is expected to visit St. Petersburg in September. Paris, June 24. The distribution of photographs of the Prince Imperial is prohibited in France. Berlin, June 24. A Government administrator has been appointed in the diocese of Posen. < London, June 25. At the merchant tailor's banquet, Disraeli, in responding to the toast of her Majesty's Ministers, defended the church as an institution of the country. The Conservative policy was not a policy of inaction, but one of progressive improvement for the people. Earl Derby spoke on the general aspect of European affairs, which were more and more tending to quietness.
