Console are unchanged at 991. New Zealand securities are at the following quotations:—Five Per Cent. 10-40 Loan, 105 J, ex dividend ; Five Per Cent. 1889 Loan, 106£ ; Four and a Half per Cent 1879 -1904 Loan, 101£. The wheat market is dull. Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, 48s; New Zealand ditto, 46a to 48s. Adelaide flour, ex store, 355. Australian tallow is firm at 45s 6d for beet beef, and 46a 6dfor best mutton. At the wool auction to-day, 10,200 bales were offered. The market is steady, hut the demand is not active.

The Austral’s cargo of frozen mutton has improved in the market, and has now been nearly all cleared at an advance of a halfpenny a pound on the first sales. H.E.H. the Prince of Wales returns from the continent on Wednesday in greatly improved health. [“age” special]
LONDON, Sept. 13, 6.40 a.m. The ironworkers’ strike in America is stated to have nearly collapsed.
