The Lacil Bills Committee have reported that the Christoburoh Drainage Aot Amendment Bill complies with the Standing Orders, and they recommend it be allowed to proceed. The analysis of the Bill is as follows : Repeal sections 47, 48, and 36 of the prinoipal A.ct—(&) Compensations to be reoovered under the Publio Works Aot ; (b) olaimant under disability to be represented by the Public Trustee. The Board may drains, &0., through publio plaoes, and, after notice, through private lands. The Board may olose up drains and sewers, and may construct reservoirs, &3., to receive sewage, and may sell sewage, &3. Persons can, with the consent of the Board, lay down privy drains, whioh are not to conneot with drains or sewers used only for drainage. The Board is to regulate the size and construction of privy drains and the times of emptying them. Bofu«al or neglect to empty privy drains is to be an offence. The Board may do it at the ocoapiera or owners' expense, and the Board can oauee premises to be inspected to see if the privies are kept emptied according to the regulations.
