Walsh, one of the traversers at the recent trial in Dublin, whose departure was previously cabled from England, airived by the Bon Oruaohan, and is now about to address audiences on the subject of the Land League. He spoke at Hotham Town Hall yester night; about 80 were present. He described the sufferings of tenants through the evictions. A resolution of sympathy with Mr Parnell and the Land League was carried by acclamation.
From information it has transpired that a largo quantity of spurious tea was inported ex Glamis Castle. The Central Board of Health have recommended the destruction of the quantity. A telegram received from Earl Kimberley requests Colonel Soratchley to proceed to Thursday Island and report the requirements in the way of defence works and its suitability for a coaling station. Governor Normanby is now communicating with the Colonial Governments, with a view of obtaining their consent. Colonel Scratohley will probably pioceed to the island in July. SYDNEY, Juno 14.
Jervaulx, the manager of the Orange Slaughtering Company, had a narrow escape of being frozen last week. The door of the refrigerating chamber closed on him while the machinery was in motion, and ten minutes passed before his cries were heard, when ho was partially insensible ADELAIDE, June 14.
Although the reception of tho Princes was not of a public character, a great crowd assembled at tho Glenelg Pier Station on Sunday night to witness their landing. Lieutenant Jervois, aide-de-camp to the Governor, proceeded on board, and invited tho Princes to Government House. They landed about nine p.m., and a special train conveyed them to Adelaide, where a largo concourse had gathered. They are now the guests of tho Governor, and it is expected will proceed to Melbourne overland, the Cleopatra proceeding direct to Melbourne. In Adelaide the Princes yesterday visited several places of interest in and around the city. They visited the Post-office, where Mr Todd, the Post-master-General, received them, and showed them the city from the clock tower. In the workshop they heard a telephonic guitar play the National Anthem. Afterwards they v Isited the Botanical Gardena and Alfred College. In addition to other attractions, a race meeting is projected for Saturday ; also a dramatic representation of “Caste.” They will arrive in Melbourne on the 25th inst.
