MAGISTRATES’ COURTS.
CHBISTCHUEOH. Friday, Januaby 16. [Before his Worship the Mayor and D. Caro, Eeq., J.P.] Deunk and Disoedbbly.—A first offender was fined ss. One man, for being drunk while in charge of a horse and dray, was fined 20j ; one woman 20?, and two old female inebriates were fined 40a each ; one woman, for using obscene language, was fined 10a. Obtaining Money. —B. O. Foot, alias Edwd. D. Foot, was charged on a warrant from Dunedin, with obtaining £7 by means of a valueless cheque from Hugh Lament. On the application of Sergeant Morioo the prisoner was remanded for twenty-four hours, pending the arrival of the warramt from Dunedin, where the offence was committed.
LYTTELTON. FeIDAT, JANNASY 16. [Before Joseph Beswick, Esq,, R.M.J Civil Business. Engelhartv Thomas Graham, claim £9 15? ; adjourned to Friday next; W. Allwright v John McDonald, claim £9 14s ; judgment for plaintiff, and costs.
