A parade of the head-quarters corps of > Volunteers took place last night, under command of Major Lean, when the prizes won at the recent meeting of the Rifle Association were presented as follows : Mayor's Cup C.V.A.; 2nd, Mr Deacon ; 3rd, Mr Barnes ; 4th Mr 'Woodhouse; sth, Lieutenant Appleby, Engineers. Blake's Challenge Cup Q-old medal, Quarter-Master Sergeant Fox, Artillery; silver medal (2nd prize), Mr G-. B. Hunter; 3rd pru;e, £2, Sapper Marshall, Engineers; 4th prize, £l, Lieutenant Appleby, Engineers; sth prize, 10s, Lane jCorporal Chapman, Engineers. _ Messrs Petersen and Co.'s prize—lst prize, £2,

Sergeant Buckle/, Engineers; 2nd prize, £l, Mr Cameron; 3rd prize, 10j, Sspper Marshall, Engineers. The gold and silver medals are very pretty specimens of work ; on one side, surrounded by a carved wreath, are the words " O.R A. Challenge Cup," with the name of the winner; on the obverse are two crossed rifles. In addition to the above a small-bore Henri rifle, presented by Captain Craig as a prize for the Artillery to be competed for until won three times—wsn by Fox—was also presented. Meura Petersen and Co 's cup has been finally won, but Mr Blake's Challenge Cup has yet to be competed for again before being finally won.
