[SPECIAL TO THE “tIMARU HERALD.”] St. Petersburg, April 18. A number of arrests of suspected Nihilists have been made here, and strong repressive measures have been entered upon. The Czar’s nervous system has received a severe shock by the recent attempt upon his life. London, April 18. By a collision between two steamers on the Mississippi, 160 lives were lost. One steamer sank, and the other had to be run ashore.
