INTIBPROVINOIAL [PKB PBKSS AGENCY.] Auckland, April 17. Messrs Lusk and Hamlin addressed their constituents. They both dissented from Sir Gr. Grey regarding the franchise, us at present any man who owned anything more than a carpet bag had a vote. Mr Lusk strongly opposes the tax on land, though he approved of a tax on income, if the income was derived from land. An acreage rate was unfair. He believed if Sir G. Grey persisted in advocating these measures he would sap the foundation of his popularity. Such vindictive legislation would be found a mistake. Mr Lusk said, after consideration, he had decided to resign his seat. Votes of confidence in Messrs Lusk and Hamlin were passed.
