FISHING- LAUNCH. JN TROUBLE. 'TAKEN TO SAFETY BY THE KALWAKRA. (Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Feb. 1-1. While proceeding down the Const t Auckland cm her way Irom Ocean Island the Union Company’s steamer Kaiwarra- was diverted from her course early this afternoon to pick up tlio' fishing launch Marina from Mangawai, which had broken down and was drifting helplessly. The Kai warm took the Marina, in tow and brought her to My.ngawai Heads, whero she was met by another' launch towed the disabled launch hack to Manga wai, which is on the cast coast north of Auckland below AVaipu Cove. The Marina, which is owned by Mr. F. Franich, of Mangawai, left-early in the morning on a trip to' the deep sea fishing grounds off the coast. Mr. Franich was in charge and' the passengers included Dr. AY. 11. Horton, of Auckland, president of the Manga-wad Deep Sea Fishing Club, and Mrs. Horton, and three other Auckland residents.
