AIRS. AfARGARET ALLEN. j Sincere regret will he expressed at , ike news of the death in Wellington ! on Wednesday of Airs Alargaret Allen, ! of Stout Street, Gisborne. Airs. Allen, who was 56 years of | age, was born at Little River, Cani tor bury, where she spent her earlier I years. Hot marriage to Air. Allen ! took place in Sydney when she was I 22 years old, and soon afterwards Air | ajud Airs. Allen came to reside in Gisi borne. Airs. Allen had been ailing for | the past 31 years. Besides her hus- | band, there remains to mourn their I less six sons, Air. -J. Allen, Bartlett's, i Messrs. R, and P. Allen. Auckland, j Mr. W. Allen. Patutahi. and jG. and F. Allen. Gisborne, and four ; daughters, Airs. C. Lister and Alisses | Keftty. Joyce and Doris Allen, Gis- | borne.

MRS BENJAMIN TAYLOR A wide circle of friends ou the Coast and in the country districts, as well as many in the town, will learn with very deep regret that the death occurred yesterday morning of Mrs Taylor, wife of Mr B. Taylor, licensee of the British Empire Hotel. Airs Taylor had not heen in good health since her last visit with her husband to the Homeland some years back and for some months had been more or less an invalid. Fbr the past month, ishe had been confined to her room. She was a daughter of the late AH' Henry Haaclie, a well-known local builder, and was born in Gisborne. After their marriage. Air Taylor took over the store at Whatatutu. and. subsequently, for some years he was in control oil the To Puka hotel whilst, in late years, he has conducted the British Empire Hotel. Airs Taylor was very highly esteemed by all sections of the community for her kindly disposition and the sympathy which she displayed whenever a helping hand was required. Widespread sympathy will be extended to Mr Taylor and his daughter. Airs Clarke, of Wellington, also to the other relatives who include Mr Albert Haaclie (a brother). Air Wm. Oman (step-brother), and Mrs Alfred Salmon (step-sister). The late Mr G. B. Oman was a brother of Airs Taylor. The funeral will leave Holy Trinity Church tins afternoon for Tarulieru Cemetery.
