LOST COLONIES

(Received Feb. 12, II p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 12. “Germany’s claims to colonies and mandates should be considered,” declared Sir Archibald Sinclair, Liberal leader, at Pontypridd. “Thet attainment of real, lasting peace depends mainly on our power to convince President Hitler we are loyal to the League and firmly resolved to join other peacelovers in resistance to aggression and also in convincing President Hitler that wc wish to co-oper-ate with Germany on a- basis of equality and fully consider heir colonial and other grievances, subject to tho indispensable condition that thoio will bo a general peace settlement involving Germany agreeing to join in ameasure o-f international cl i-s a l moment-, to submit all international disputes to arbitration and grant all nations, including Russia, equality of rights and the status she herself demands, and also give the natives of any restored colony the samef guarantees against exploitation, conscription and militarism as in the mandates and guaranteeing an open door trade. Germany is entitled to claim similar guarantees from the others.
