M.IIS. ANNIE JONES. Another link Avijh the older residents of this district Avas severed yesterday Avith the death of Mrs. Annie Jones, Avife of Mr. Watkin George Jones, Avhich occurred at her residence. 41 Chalmers road. Mrs. Jones Avas born in Gloucester shire, England, GS years ago, and came to Nc-av Zealand with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. Doddrington, at the age of 10 years. They travelled hi the sailing vessel Rbenfiohia, which discharged her passengers at Dunedin, Mr and Mrs. Doddrington and family coming on to Gisborne, settling at Ivfatawhero. They passed .. through troublous times, and AVcnt N 1 through the last To Ivooti scare.After her marriage in Holy Trinity Church 48 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Jones lived at Makaraka- for a number of years, subsequently living in Opotiki for eight years, and returning later to live in Gisborne. They had resided in their present home during the past 14 years. During the Great War, the late Mrs. Jones Avas very active in patriotic Avork, and Avas also an active member of the Church of England. ** During the past IS months, she had been in indifferent health .
