CONVICTS STRANGLE WARDER. (U.P.A. by Elec. Tel. Copyright). (Received Sept. 13, 5.5 p.m.) ANNECY, Sept, 12. Five convicts strangled a warder and escaped from prison into Switzerland, Avhere three Avert* arrested Avithout resistance at F'eternc. Tho ringleader unscrewed the lock of his cell door, knocked out the warder. took the keys and released three felloAA* convicts, who like himself, were solving life sentences for attempted murder of a Avoman tobacconist. The' warder recoA’crod and tried to raise an alarm, but the convicts choked him with a leather strap. Thev Avent to a common cell, released one of the ten prisoners, scaled the walls and escaped by motor car and motor cycle across the Srviss frontier. The police stopped and arrested three and aro still searching for the missing pair.
