“CHILDREN IN UNIFORM.”
repertory society. • Til o' Gisborne Repertory Society’s production “Children in Uniform” is already lit .for presentation, the ■public ' costumes for. all members of the cast''' having' arrived‘ from Sydney and the 1 full dress rehearsal' having' .proved that all'is in readiness. The east of. 30 members is led by .Miss P. Mortimer as Manuel a and by Misses P. Bowie, M. Keany and C. Oman while others with leading roies : are .‘Misses R. Wau chop, J. Irvine,'V. Cox. and A. Ryan. One or two of the parts have been exceedingly hard to easts and it was in one ease only by asking members to go through; parts of the play several times that the committee finally made its choice this choice having, turned out to bo an excellent one. The strenuous efforts made by the Society’s producer, Miss Ellen Millar to giro the public a show better than any yet produced have, it seems, been rewarded should one judge by the remarks of the few who wore privileged to see the dross rehearsal and it is a erdit to Miss Millar that although handling a cast of 30 m place of the usual 5 to 10 she should have been able to bring them all up to the high standard required by the society.
