The Mayor said ho had convened a conference of local bodies as mentioned it; the circular to be held on August 31. He thought they should congratulate them on being made a separate provincial district. In addition to the local bodies he had also issued an invitation toy-the 30,000 Club, the Employers’ Association, Labor Representation Committee, Sir A-pira.ua Ngata and! Air G. Hultquist, M.P.. for the Bay of Plenty, to be present. He asked the council to appoint two representatives to attend the meeting. Crs. H. E. Maude and H. Holmes were appointed.
