“SUNSET PASS/’ ‘-JIMMY THE GENT” TALKIE TESTS: LAST DAY A varied and most enjoyable programme eonc-lndos to-night at the Optra House. In addition to the 41 new talkie tests, there are two excellent features, Randolph Scott, Tom Keene, Kathleen Parke. Noak. Decry, Harry Carey, and Kent Taylor play the leading roles in Znao Grey s “Snnset Pass.'’ Paramount’s ihril-1-UtT story of the West. The picture, packed from briginning to end with excitement, centres around a cattleman’s association deputy who linds that the man he is tracking down is the brother of the girl he loves. Keene plays- the role of the deputy, Scott, the man lie is seeking, and Miss Burke the latter’s sister. The second feature is Warner Bros’ “Jim my the Gent,” starring James Cagney, Bette. Davis, Abe White, and Allan Jenkins. The picture is based <>:t the hilarious comedy romanc-;- by Laird Doyle and Pay Nazarrn and concerns two crooks who are both try ing to expose the- other to impress the girl they both love.
