PACKET DAY CANVASSING CAMPAIGN TO-DAY Preparations for Packet Day were discussed in detail at a meeting| of the executive of the Festival of Sport* committee -last evening. It- was stated that 4000 packets are required and it was decided that that portion of the town not already canvassed should bo approached to-day and tomorrow; Mr W. Lints and Mrs Harper have already interviewed storekeepers and others from the Gas Co. down, to Mr, AlcKeague’s. store, and have met with outstanding success. Canvassing will start to-day. in the following aii'eau: — From Potties’ corner to TattersaH and Raylj’s, and Loan and Mercantile to Adairs—Jin charge of basketball and croquet players. Masonic to Cosmopolitan Chib and W. Sinclair’s to the G'as CompanyIn charge of Rugby players. Power Board to Jeune’s, and Common, Shelton's to Rosie’s—ln charge of amateur athletic, hockey, and soccer players. Hall and Co.’s to G. Reynolds, and W. Stewart to Cash Stores.—ln charge of golf players. MOST POPULAR SPORT MR, DECOSTA AGAIN WINS 1000 VOTES The committee, hais decided that the three competitors in the most popular sport competition who received the greatest number of votes this week -should be awarded bonuses of JOOO, 500, -and 250 votes respectively. The results were made known last evening. Mr H. H. DeCosta again secured the bonus of 1000 votes Mrs J. R. Murphy securing an additional j •500 votes, and Mr V. C. R. Mitford - an additional 250 votes. The placings now are as follows:

In many of the branches the decision will be by competition. In these the decision, will be made by selection by a competent committee. The total 'entries in each class arc as follows: Golf 20, Rugby 15, bowls 16., rowing 13, cricket ID, basketball 14, swimming and diving 17, boxing ' 12, wrestling 13, gymnast ids tennis 21, Association football lb. coquet 15, national dancing 17, badminton 17, field athletics 16, liockcy 19, gallery shooting 17, pihg pong 15, and billiards 16. SUNDAY PICTURES A new programme, including the second series of Bobby Jones’ golf lessons, will bje screened at the Regent Theatre*on Sunday night. Admission will be by invitation, which may be obtained at the festival office or from members of the golf, amateur athletic and soccer committees.
