N.Z. TEAM FOR EMPIRE GAMES. HOW SHOULD EXPENSES BE PAID? <Presa Association.. WELLINGTON, July 2. A decision as to whether New Zealand bowlers should be levied to pay tho expenses of a team of bowlers to compete at tho Empire Games in Sydney in 1938 was postponed by the New Zealand Bowling Association today . Hitherto teams of bowlers travelling overseas have paid their own expenses.

Tho suggestion' that the expenses of the team to represent the Dominion in Sydney should bo paid by the association emanated from Wellington and Otago. Tho opinions of other centres were sought. Four replied .n favor of the proposal and four against it. Two desired that no action he taken, and 12 gave no definite reply. Mr S'. M. Stone, of Wellington, withdrew the motion that a levy be made, with a view to the matter being withdrawn, bringing the question forwai’d at the half-yearly meeting in January and allowing further consideration by centres. He said he thought tho levy, if made, would not be more than 3d. NOTES AND NEWS. The New Zealand howlers yesterday played Tweed Heads, Coolangatta and Southport.
