DEATH FOR KIDNAPPING

Under the retrospective application of the new law, Edward Bottrip was sentenced to death at Bonn for kidnapping a boy of 12 years and 'demanding a ransom. He sent a letter to the father that the boy was trussed up in a bath and that the money must arrive before the bath was- filled. The police, however, rescued the boy.
Bottrip was previously convicted of a simSlair offence.
