Tho exploits ol Miss Winston at Dunedin, where she nearly won a steeplechaso treble, have ben noted as giving her more than an outside chanco among flic better-class ’chasers at Trentham. However, information from Invercargill shows that her Dunedin performance was even better than the reading of tho record shows. Loss than six weeks prior to competing, Miss W inston was in a had way with a poisoned leg, and her work had to be suspended, while her near leg below tho knee was tubed. To have done so well after a serious interruption was indeed a line performance.
