If this happens they wilt write a new page in Rugby Union history. Its contemplation by them is a compliment to New Zealand and and Australian Rugby. Hitherto, the number they have sent on tour lias been smaller. They have had three tours to Great, Britain. NOTES AND NEWS Mr. E. R. G. S tee re, formsr Hawke’s Bay and New Zealand Rugby representative, who has been .stationed in Wanganui isincei leaving Hawke’s Bay some time ago, has received notice of his, transfer to the Lower-Hutt branch of the Bank of New Zealand. Although lie represented Wunganui at Rugby after going there, and appeared in hist year’s trials-, he has not, taken the same active-' part in the game' this season. He was a member of the New •Zealand Rugby teams in 1928, 1929, 1930, 1931 and' 1932. He is also wellknown as an athlete, specialising In field events,, and/ winning provincial championship honours, as,' well as representing his province at the New Zealand championships.
