Tho entries in the Silver Tnssic tournament at Gleneagles have been unequalled for years for size and class. This tournament is regarded as a useful pipeopener to tho amateur rli-nii-piouship at St. Andrews. Farrier was one of the 130 entrants, among whom is tho holder Tassio Sweeney, (lie South African Locke, and other stars. Perrier gave a magnificent performance in the first, round over the, King’s course. Mis figures out. being 564 6 3 4 4 2 5 and in l 34535 43 4. Ho tied for leading place with the multimillionaire Captain Francis, of Dundee. Kenneth Median and Locke putted poorly. Perrier’s second round on the Queen’s course in the nfternoon was 68, giving him an aggregate of 140, which won for him tlie Silver Ta.s.sii-. Ferrier played faultlessly.
