In the. course of routine business gratis nation was expressed that representatives of several women’s organisations had attended Hie recent annual meeting of the division. Tt was unanimously decided to forward a letter of appreciation and thanks for her interesting address at the annual meeting to Afiss M. Campbell, of Campbelltown, Scotland who was for 23 years actively connected with the Red Cross. The question in regard to- extra training for members allotted to public duty was discussed, and -several suggestions were brought forward which should make for greater efficiency. in refoiring to the qualifications of members in connection with aticnda'nce at basketball and hookey matches. it was mentioned that three had qualified this year for senior service. The attendance of the meeting was drawn to the fact that although several members had left the district 1-1 io strength of the. division had been maintained, this year's membership showing an increase of seven in comparison with Inst year. Several alterations in the comprehensive syllabus previously drawn up for the ensuring year were inserted.

ALLEGRO CLUB Artistic decorations created a happy 'atmosphere- at the Allegro Club, on Wednesday night, when the monthly concert was held under the happiest, auspicies. A large audience greeted the performers.. and that the entertainment was appreciated to thd full was evidenced by the warm applause after i each number. • ■ A delicious .supper was served informally at the conclusion of the programme. A CART) PARTY On Thursday night the Eteesia Lounge was the scene of a very successful flag 500 tourney, organised by the Gisborne Dickens Club, in aid of the funds of the St. John. Rarryi. who, prior to the commencement of play, took the opportunity of briefly outlining the aims of the club. A canopy of coloured streamers lent a- festive- air to the ball-room, and the stage wa-s charmingly decorated! with golden ehiysanthemums intermingled with autumn foliage, the association's banner—advantageously displayed—adding a vivid touch of er’mso.n to (lie artistic whole.
