Carterton has drawn very satisfactory acceptances and promises to provide splendid racing. The concluding day of the South Canterbury's Jockey Club's meeting at Timaru will also command followers. The win-and-plnee totalisators will be in evidence at To Rapa whilst the single-pool system of betting will be adopted at both Carterton and Timarn. In connection with the Waikato meeting a couple of alterations are notified. The Otorobanga Hack Handicap. which was originally the fifth race on the programme, is now to he run in divisions. TE RAPA WORK-OUTS. HAMILTON, May 20

A feature of the training operations at Te Rapa this morning was an impressive exhibition of schooling over a round of the steeplechase country by Rasouli. Royal Limond and London .

The only hurdlers to be schooled were Jolly Beggar (R. Beale) and Grand Score • (J. Smith'), the. former out,jumping his opponent in the latter stages to finish a. dozen lengths clear at the completion of six hurdles. Jollv Beggar rapped the first, but his exhibition from then on was good. Grand Score failed to take several fences cleanly, especially the second to last, which he hit bard. Rasouli (11. Beale), Royal Limond CP. O’Connor) and London (A. Gilmer) gave a fast and clever display ever the steeplechase fences. Rasouli impressed most and finished about a length clear, after completing the double in front of the stands.

Bonnv Gay and High Tea wore doing better than Barograph at the completion of seven furlongs in 1.38, the last six in 1.24 3/5.

Glenavon pleased by running half a mile in 545. Latest, arrivals include Sea Fox. Dollar Bill and Donegal.

Ono of the first of the visitors to reach Ellorshc for the Auckland Racing Club’s winter meeting is the Gb. Northern Hurdles candidate Clarion Call, who arrived from Marlon on Wednesday. Trained In- L. G. Morris. Clarion Call is a five-year-old gelding by Hunting Song from Saxon Saint, by Hallowmas-—Formless, by Multiform—Dreamer, dam of Bon Rove, who won the Great Northern Hurdles in 1018. Up to the present he has not had a great deal of racing, luit he has proved very versatile, having won on the flat and over country and hurdles. Clarion Call is to he ridden by A. Jenkins.
