WELLINGTON, May 22. “No additional appointments to the Labor Ministry will be made for seine tittle,” said Mr. Savage to-night. . L y ( ~E A rumour that the personnel of Cabinet would be increased by tlie appointment of Mr. Lee ariH Mr. Carr as new Ministers, he denied emphatically. A further suggestion that Mr. Fraser might lake tke portfolio of Finance, he stated, was “mischievous as well as untrue.”
Mr. Savage said that he had disbussed increasing Cabinet strength in general terms and with the pressure of work an increase was inevitable, but the additional appointments were for the Government as a whole to decide. Pressure of business had prevented a discussion by Cabinet and the matter had not even been before it.
