NEXT WEEK’S FIXTURE. ATTRACTIVE PROGRAAEME. Tho fbuntemth annual shew of the Poverty Bay Winter Show 'Association will he belli in Common, Slicltoii’s- wool store in Palmerston road next week. It will be open to h'l2 public at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening and the official opming w:ll he performed by tho deputy-Mi.iyor, All*. H. Holmes, at 8 p.m. No effort is*bcir.ig spared by the* committee in making the 1836 function as attractive as possible to the patrons of the show.

The large increase in membership and the record entries received, numbering nearly 2,460, are factors which should ensure success. Jn addition to the usual attraction, a canary and cage bird show, dor which splendid entries have been received, will , bo staged on the first two days o.f ' ihe show.

The dog show, always an attn.retivo portion of the winter show will bo staged on Saturday next lie tween 0 n.m. and G p.m.. An innovation at this year’s shew will be the staging of the- first Poverty Bay ping pong tournnment, whicli is attracting a considerable interest, over 30 entries, having been received to date. It is anticipated that there will he more during the next lew days.

The trade exhibits promise to bt not only numerous but also novel in character, and most of the firms concerned are busily, occupied in preparing their stands. : National dancing, a feature of the show which appeals to many, will be staged nightly. To thin section has been added tap-dancing which should also prove extremely popular.

In furthering the endeavour to eater for all ages, the association is staging a baby show on Friday afternoon at. 2 p.m., different classes For hoys and girls from fi months l, n to IS months being open for entry. The final feature of the. show and one which is attracting considerable interest, will be a decorated procession on Saturday afternoon next. The procession will comprise decorated vehicles, trade exhibits, decollated motor cycles, bicycles and children in fancy drees. Special priz's will be awarded for tb!c best exh bits in each section.
