Delegates from both Islands are attending the twentieth annual conference of flic New Zealand Workers’ Union, which was opened in the Trades Hall. Wellington, to-day by the IT oil. R. Semple. The conference, which will continue for a week, will be the most important in the h-'story of the organisation, and will have numerous important mattes to deal with conriming the drafting- of claims for the many activities! it covers in. the agricultural and pastoral industries. Tho greater part of the day . was occupied discussing routine business and setting up committees. Tho most important decision reached war, tlrat of affiliating with) the Labor party, the decision being made unanimously.
