NUMMARY AND FORECAST. (Press Association - ). WELLINGTON, May 20. An anti-cyclone; extends across New Zealand, the. centre to-day being east of the, North Island. Another slight depression. is crossing the South. Tasman Sea, while a cyclone, located west of Norfolk Island, is apparently deepening. Wind's : North-easterly to northerly, becoming strong in the fay north, elsewhere moderate but freshening, a southerly change probable in the south during to-inorrow. Seas : Becoming rough north of East Cape; elsewhere slight to moderate, but rising about Foveaux Strait. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong easterly to north-easterly winds, ' and rough seas in the northern portion, moderate to fresh north-westerly, backing later to southerlies in the southern portion, with moderate but rising seas.

Weather: Some scattered rain m !ho western and far southern districts of the South Island, otherwise (air at first, but with increasing cloud and mist, rain developing shortly in (lie northern and north-eastern portions of the North Island, and later becoming fairly general. Temperatures mild but cooler to-morrow in the South Island.
