SOME WAYS TO LURE SLEEP. METHODS THAT HAVE BEEN TRIED WITH SUCCESS. (By Lydia -Le Baron Walker.)

Those individuals who arc prone to lie awake at- night when they should be sleeping, may be able to court slumber in some of the ways suggested to-day. Each method has been tried and proven successful by others suffering from insomnia. If one method does not create drowsiness, try another. Some persons are affected by one treatment, some by another. All are simple, and miniis medicines. Some methods act as preludes to sleep ' getting the mind in order for it-. Others pertain to physical comforts conducive to slumber. Those who have difficulty in getting to sleep after going to bed arc apt to mull over in their minds the happenings of the day just past, and they arc sure to discover things to worry about. Alost of these things are magnified a hundredfold, and should have a mantle of forgetfulness thrown over them. Kindly thoughts of others arid of -yourself, and a determination to suspend judgment on them and yourself, at least- until day comes, are recommended. Unhappy, thoughts will yield ■to happy, ones if the person seeks with insistence for the latter. They will lull the mind and this is imperative.

Prelude to Sieep. Excitement often drives sleep away. This may (be merely absorbing conversation before bedtime. But whatever it is, avoid it by retiring earlier than you plan to go to sloop. In the

quietness of your own room have a prelude to sleep. It may consist in | reading, working over picture puz- ! hies, or cross-word puzzles, in games ! of solitaire, in doing a bit of embroidery, etc. Anything that lends calm i to your soul will be helpful," so remember your devotions.
