PETONE RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB. TUBrLEE CELEBRATIONS. The- Petone Rugby Football Club reached its fiftieth year on April 10, 1935. Owing to various local causes it was not possible to celebrate the event on the due date, but arrangemenls have now been completed fortbo jubilee celebrations to bo held at Petone from Saturday, April 1R to Uoifuay, April 13. inclusivo. A 'cry fine programme, including a parade ol all past and present members. football matches, sight-seeing tours and sports gatherings has been drawn up, the festivities to conclude with a jubilee ball on Monday night. During the past fifty years the Petone Club has achieved an outstanding record in Rugby football. Orel 100 have reached representative honours, and among- the outstanding names who hare represented New Zealand at Home and abroad are Tom Cross, Duncan McGregor. J. R. McKenzie. W. (“Offside”) McKenzie, H. G. and Mark Nieholls, H. R. Pollock. J. E. Ryan. A. Thorn as arm A. Lamboumc. In 1907 tlm Petone Club secured tin* wonderful leeoi’d ol' winning all championships in all grades in which its teams competed, playing 5? games, winning ol with three drawn, securing an aggregate of 921 points and having 123 points scored against. It- is known that there are many well-known old members and associates of the club resident in other park, of the Dominion, and those who wish to attend the jubilee celebrations in April, should communicate with the club secretary at Petone for further particulars and to secure accommodation if so desired. —'™— _ l
