STATE MINERS IDLE
— COMPLAINT ABOUT ALLOCATION OF TRUCKS. THREAT IF MINISTER DOES NOT VISIT DISTRICT. (Press Association). GREYMOUTH. Fob. 27. The State mine workers are idle ns a protest against, alleged unfair treatment. in the allocation of railway trucks for the conveyance of coal from the State collieries as compared with that accorded the smaller collieries in the district. The miners attribute thereto the slack time at the mines. The Liverpool miners decided on Wednesday morning to return homo without working, and they, along with the .Tames mine workers, are now remaining idle until Monday, until which time they wil lbc awaiting a visit, from the Minister for Mines (Mr Webb) with whom they wish to discuss matters relating to the cause of slack time. In the event of the Ministerial visit not being paid, the union threaten to take drastic action.
