MODERN GIRLS IGNORANT AND
INEFFICIENT
LONDON, Nov. 25
The Young Girl who has .Just Left School is found by Miss Marguerite Steen, the authoress and educationist, to he “wholly maddening’’ because ot her Lack of concentration;
Indistinct intellectual values
Bad taste in actions, manners and in regard to art. literature or music: Staggering ignorance of everything not connected with herself personally, her school, or tho homo lile of movie stars.
Miss Steen had lots more "in the same vein to tell tho Parents’ National Education Union Conference in London yesterday. For instance:
“Many girls are leaving school to day with the outlook of an underhousemaid, hut. they have not nearly the under-housemaid’s efficiency to excuse it.
“'At the same time .1 feel it is illogical to get angry or to blame girls who are simply the victims of the system which produces them. “All these young people leaving school want, on the whole, is some kind of pin-money job which will keep them afloat, with assistance from the despised home, until they are married.”
