With 37 arid 36, Georgie Naesmith, one over par, tied for fifteenth place in the first round of the Riverside open 3,000 dollars championship tournament for the best score of the Australian delegation. Vie Ghezzi ifcd the field with a sensational 68. The scores of the other visitors were:

The Australian golfers still found the going difficult in the Riverside tournament. Cohen led the visitors with a two-round total of lot), but was 40th in the standing. Bolger and George Naismith. with 151 and 152 respectively, managed to break under 153 to qualify for to-morrow's two final rounds. The scores of the other Australians were: Ted Naismith Jo-1, Kelly and Richardson 156.
