OBITUARY
AIR. W. FRAZER
Sincere regret will lie felt by a large circle of friends at the announcement of the death of Afr. WfiHaisi Frazer, which occurred at his re-gyS, deuce, Wi Pere Street, on Saturday evening.
Air. Fraser was horn in-Ballarat in 1864. He took up the teaching profession and came to New Zealand some thirty-five years ago. He was keenly interested in Alaori work, and nceepted a position on the teaching staff of the Native schools, being appointed to the AVaikato district, where he served two years. He Was then transferred to the East Coast, where he remained for many years. Serving 21 years at AA’hangara and then went to Tokomaru Bay for eight years. An upright teacher, he was in full sympathy with his Alaori scholars and was universallv beloved. In 1931 lie retired on superannuation to the regret of many of the Natives on the Coast. Ho retained his interest is; education, however, and until his death was a member of tlie Hawke’s Bay Education Board. On his retirement in Gisborne he joined the .Poverty Bay Bowling- Club and held the office of treasurer for two year's.
Air. Frazor was keenly interested in the Alethodist Church, and both in Australia and New Zealand held office as a local preacher, having served in this' capacity for 49 years. As a member of the Masonic fraternity Mr. Frazer was held in high repute, and for many years was secretary of Lodge Waiapu, Tokomaru Bav.
Air. Frazer leaves a widow a three sons, Alessrs. T. R. Frader’ (Hamilton), E. AV. Frazer (ALikaim) and O. G.. Frazer (Gisborne), to all of whom will bo extended sincere sympathy in their great, loss. A. service will - he held in the Alethodist Church, Bright. Street, at--1.45p.m. to-day, prior to leaving f° r tko Alakaraka cemetery at* 2 p.ni. '
